The second session will focus on the production as they work through the script, putting all the elements of the show together. $500/session (2 sessions – students must attend both sessions) + $50 one time costume fee

Classes to take place at Hebrew Foundation School located at 2 Rue Hope, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, H9A 2K2

This beginner class will focus on two main elements for the first session: basic acting technique and self-awareness. These elements will be introduced through puppetry, movement and song along with improvisational games. In January, the session will pick up from where the class left off creatively, developing a story line that is a larger more complete version of the puppet story, using musical and story elements. A wide variety of exercises will be used to work towards the goal of a performance in June. The puppet element will be eliminated, as the performers will be able to step into the shoes of the characters themselves. The final performances will take place at the Segal Centre in Montreal. As with all other courses at the Segal Centre, our overall goals are to help students develop many important life skills such as teamwork, empathy, positive self-esteem and improved confidence.

Shining Lights (Grades 4-6) – West Island

Classes to take place at Hebrew Foundation School located at 2 Rue Hope, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, H9A 2K2

In this new intermediate class, students will explore characterization, movement, body language, and voice projection. Students will learn how to approach text and perform confidently for an audience. The course will have a strong focus on musical theatre. Students will develop interpersonal skills and problproblem-solvingbilities through group interaction and artistic collaboration. The program will culminate in an end of year performance that will take place at the Segal Centre.

In addition to its regular after-school programming, the Segal Centre Academy also offers a variety of camps.
