The National Council of Jewish Women of Canada (NCJWC) “Reach for the Stars” 120th anniversary luncheon on October 22,2017 features Dr. Roberta Bondar, the first Canadian woman in space, as the keynote speaker.  She is truly a Canadian icon and continues her work as a researcher, educator, photographer and author.  Dr. Bondar shares many of the values that are important to our members and our organization.

Our Reach for the Stars 120th Anniversary Luncheon will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Temple Sinai Congregation, 210 Wilson Ave., Toronto.  We will be honouring our past National and Toronto Section presidents and installing our next National President, Debbie Wasserman.

As Canada celebrates its 150th anniversary, National Council of Jewish Women of Canada (NCJWC) is celebrating its 120th anniversary.  This milestone signifies a long history of Jewish women in Canada, starting in Toronto, who continue to make a remarkable contribution to many areas of Canadian life. In 1897 NCJWC was the first non-profit volunteer organization of Canadian Jewish women.

NCJWC has always been a catalyst for social change.  Our members have dedicated their energy to developing and administering innovative programs that respond to the needs

of communities across Canada.  We are committed to enhancing the lives of individuals within our own community and the broader multicultural community through education, service and social action.

We are very proud to celebrate NCJWC’s anniversary as we honour the past, celebrate the present and look forward with excitement to the future.
