I have been teaching guitar for 32 years and have prepared students for local, school, and professional bands, Jam Bands, College and University. I have formal training in Music (Jazz Guitar, Diploma in Recording Arts), Education (B.Ed.), Filmmaking, Electronics, and Computers.

I Developed a music course successfully used for over twenty five years in private and group situations in the private and public school sectors.

One of my students received the following  from Conservatory Canada:

The Helen Ingram Memorial Scholarship (for $150)

and

The Medal for Excellence for the Level 1 Contemporary Idioms Guitar exam (for having the highest mark – 95.6% in guitar for the province of Quebec).

My years of public and private teaching experience have enabled me to develop various approaches to teaching giving me the ability to connect with different learning styles and age groups. I encompasses a positive self-concept with my music instruction using a play along with your favorite songs approach (by your second or third lesson you will be strumming along with a song).

Students focus on discovering their own improvisational voice and developing a pragmatic relaxed/effortless ergonomic left and right hand technique that can deliver as much speed as one desire’s if they choose to also develop that area.

During lessons students will learn chords, strumming, theory, harmony, reading, scales, ear training, and songwriting/composition. Students advance their instrument skills through the style of music and songs they are most interested in and if they wish also through a more formal Conservatory method. Students of all levels from beginner to professional will be taken care of.

I offer a sliding scale for those who need assistance please do not hesitate to inquire.
