Gilda Corpadean Delaunay is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist with close to fifteen years of experience. She is passionate about her work in the field of nutrition and fully committed to helping people on their journey to better health and overall wellness. For Gilda, nutrition is not simply a matter of nourishing our bodies, it includes how we relate to food and its taste, how the many choices we make about food affect our daily lives, how food influences our relationship with others and the world around us. Our relationship with food defines a part of who we are, a part we should strive to keep well and happy, just like any other part of our identity.

 

Gilda’s career rests on a variety of professional experiences, in Montreal as well as abroad. Upon graduation from the School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition at McGill University, Gilda worked for a few years in a private hospital in Geneva, Switzerland. Back in Montreal, she worked as a nutritionist and as a health educator in several establishments of the private healthcare sector and the public healthcare system, including at the Montreal Agency (Direction de santé publique de Montréal). Her experience includes individual and group counselling, public speaking, and direct involvement in projects aimed at the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits. With her knowledge and appreciation of cultural and social differences, Gilda can offer a personalized counselling service adapted to her clients’ lifestyle choices.

 

Gilda has a particular interest in weight management and the complex relationship between weight, nutrition, health, and body image.

 

She adheres to the non-dieting weight loss approach and encourages a healthy and enjoyable relationship with food and a healthy body image. She equally enjoys providing services in various specialties aimed at ensuring a healthy diet, managing dietary constraints, or treating medical problems.

 

Counselling is a passion for Gilda. She has developed a personalized, motivational approach, rooted in the sincere desire to help her clients and the belief that they all have the potential and ability to make positive changes. She strives for a helping relationship that is based on respect, empathy and active listening, allowing every person to move forward and pursue health goals with self-confidence.

 

As a nutritionist as well as a wife, mother and daughter, Gilda knows of the many challenges her clients face in their daily lives, whether it be to provide tasty and nutritious food for their families, manage stressful conditions or keep up with the fast pace of our modern life. Gilda believes in simple and practical solutions for food-related activities such as home cooking, eating on the go, or restaurant dining.
