Atelier Lou Bijouterie
Our Story
Eric Goldberg pays homage to his father Lou, who immigrated to Canada with his parents at the age of seven. In 1946, Lou started what would become a Montreal institution, Lou Goldberg Jeweller. Lou’s first “store” was a custom-made vest that allowed him to carry precious items of jewelry in its many pockets when he called upon clients in their homes. It was the strong relationships with his customers, built over many years that gave life to his family business for over six decades. For Eric, creating, redesigning and selling jewelry just became a normal part of life.
Eric’s father, Lou, wore a gold and enamel ladybug tie pin every day at work. He was even known to have some extras in his pocket so he could give them out to some of his most cherished customers.
It is a rare occasion that a brand can embody both experience and a desire to create something new, fresh and unique.
ServicesAppraisal
Atelier Lou has a team of certified appraisers to give you a professional opinion of the authenticity, quality, and value of your jewelry. Estate
Atelier Lou will buy your old unused or unwanted gold, jewelry and watches. Come visit us and let us examine your jewelry so that we may give you an estimate of its value. Atelier Lou will pay the highest prices for your items.
Restoration, Redesign, and Repair
Atelier Lou works with a dedicated team of Montreal’s best goldsmiths and designers. Our designers and goldsmiths, like Eric, have a long family history dating back over 100 years. While some pieces simply need to be reset, cleaned and polished, others may need a complete makeover. Eric and his team will work closely with you to ensure that your piece is restored to its original beauty or redesigned to make it uniquely yours.
Watchmaker on Premises
Unlike many local jewelry shops which send their watch repairs to outside watch repair workshops, Atelier Lou has a master watchmaker on the premises five days a week. This allows Atelier Lou to ensure that all watch repairs are done quickly, efficiently and economically. Atelier Lou will provide you with a free estimate on all watch repairs.
