​ Fans of the fabulous HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm will want to see Jewish standup comic Iris Bahr perform at The St-Ambrose Montreal Fringe Festival. Her shows run between June 8 to 16 at the Chapelle de la Cité-des-Hospitalières (251 Pine Ave West). Tickets are $19 each. Bahr is best known for portrayed the recurring Orthodox Jewish Girl on the ski lift with Curb star Larry David. She also appeared in the finale. In addition she played Perla, the Russian nurse on Hacks, not to mention roles in 50 plus more TV shows and films. She is currently on a new series for Amazon Freevee streaming service called Dinner with the Parents. In Montreal she will present her show called Stories from the Brink: My festive near-death adventures.

Bahr is an award-winning writer, actor, director about her travels through Asia, South America and the college experience. She also co-authored Book of Leon with comic JB Smoove.  Her books have been translated into numerous languages and one is currently being adapted into a feature film.

Besides Curb and Hacks, Bahr has also been on The Conners, and her cable series Svetlana, executive produced by Mark Cuban, which she also wrote and directed for two seasons. Her critically acclaimed solo show, “DAI (enough)”, which she also performed at the United Nations for over 100 ambassadors and delegates, had a hit run Off-Broadway, has toured around the world, and won the prestigious Lucille Lortel Award for Best Solo Performance, as well as two Drama Desk and UK Stage Award nominations.  Her third solo show I Lost You There premiered at the acclaimed Cherry Lane Theatre in NYC, and her fourth work,  DAI 2.0, was live streamed for an online audience during the pandemic.  She is currently touring with her fifth show, See you Tomorrow and  Stories from the Brink in Montreal is actually a premiere.  See You Tomorrow was just nominated for the 2024 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding New Play.

As a stand-up comic, Iris has performed both in the US and abroad, including at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival. She performs  stand-up regularly both in New York City and abroad,  accompanied by a Jazz trio, combining  her love of comedy and Jazz music, and also hosts a weekly podcast X-RAE, as her alter ego Rae Lynn Caspar White. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Brown University, where she studied Neuropsychology. She conducted brain research at Stanford and at the UCLA brain mapping center before pursuing acting and writing full time.
