Côte Saint-Luc teenager Marshall Weinstein has gone through a rough few years battling Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a lymphoblastic lymphoma, Type t. However, the Bialik student will be finished his cancer treatment in eight months. He’s in remission and everyone hopes good times are ahead.
Due to the type of cancer that he has, Marshall was told he would have to undergo two and a half years of chemotherapy and intensive treatment for the first year, and then another year and a half.
Marshall’s parents Jeffrey and Adina and younger brother Anderson have provided an excellent support system. So have friends and family. Last year, in conjunction with the Knights of Pythias, and Anderson’s Bar Mitzvah project, Marshall spearheaded a fundraiser to donate Nintendo Switches and games for kids who are waiting for their chemotherapy at Sainte Justine, Hospital to use and enjoy. In fact, a little six-year-old boy started to cry when he was offered to use the Switch, as he never tried one before. Currently, Marshall along with Anderson and Jeff, and several close family friends are participating in 24H Tremblant. This is an incredible event, starting on Sat. Dec. 9 at noon until Sunday, Dec. 10 at noon. Part of the money raised is donated to the oncology department at Sainte Justine. If you would like to donate go to 24htremblant.com
